Shardé Simpson is the co-founder of Simpson & Reed, a boutique entertainment law firm that supports artists,creative professionals, record labels, and companies. Her practice is referral-based and focuses on promotingdiversity in music law, empowering artists, and protecting their rights. She currently represents severalprominent clients, including the artist professionally known as Meek Mill, and has previously worked withartists such as H.E.R.
In addition to her law firm, Simpson serves as the Vice President of Operations at Dream Chaser Records, Inc.“DreamChasers”, a label launched in 2019 as a joint venture between Meek Mill and Roc Nation, with MeekMill serving as President. In her role with DreamChasers, Simpson manages label operations, oversees talentacquisition, and directs creative strategies and marketing initiatives.Simpson's career began at Roc Nation in 2008, where she started as an executive assistant before advancing toA&R Coordinator in 2010. In that role, she contributed to projects like J. Cole’s debut album Sideline Story and Rita Ora’s Ora album.
She then transitioned to a Business and Legal Affairs department, where shewas responsible for crafting contracts, registering master recordings, and handling sponsorship agreements forRoc Nation’s clients.With a unique blend of legal expertise and operational insight, Simpson leverages her diverse experience tochampion her clients' artistic and professional ambitions across the music industry.
